Under the guidelines of top-notch faculties from home and abroad, the Department of Law, Canadian University of Bangladesh offers 4 years LLB (Hon’s) Degree in 8 terms. Each Academic year is divided into 2 semesters with the duration of 6 months. There is time period of total 24 weeks in each semester. Up to 20 weeks spent for class room instructions. The duration of classes is 36-40 *90 minute for each course during a semester.
Our LLB (Hons) Law course is a qualifying law degree, forming an essential part of the training you need to become a lawyer. The course will equip you with a broad understanding of key legal principles and institutions within the political, social, economic and cultural context in which the law operates. You'll learn how the law is made and administered and explore the inter-relationships between the law, individuals and society. We give you the opportunity to build on this knowledge with a wide choice of 140 credits with 8 semesters of intense study. And you'll also have the opportunity to gain valuable experience from our qualified faculties and from community Legal Advice Centre, working with local lawyers to provide a law clinic for the general public. This course meets all the requirements of Bangladesh bar council and approved by University Grant Commission (UGC). It also gives professional and required academic training to achieve qualifications as a legal executive or for the insurance and financial services industries. You'll also have the chance to compete and participate in various national and international law competitions. You'll be expected to carry out your own independent study to build on your learning, ensuring you develop valuable research skills and get out of the course what you put in. Our lecturers have strong links with the legal profession, so you'll also have plenty of opportunities to learn outside of the lecture theater and seminar room. If you play an active role throughout the course, joining in with debates, moots and attending guest talks, conferences and events, you'll reap the rewards. Our Coursework includes essays, a reflective diary, oral presentations, practical exercises and answering hypothetical problem questions. Throughout the course you'll be given plenty of feedback to help you improve. If you choose the final-year project option, you'll conduct independent research on a legal topic of your choice and complete a dissertation.

Canadian University Law and Moot Club (CUBLMC) was established in 2016 with an aim to facilitate a student-friendly platform of extra-curricular activities for the students of Department of Law, Canadian University of Bangladesh. Representing Canadian University of Bangladesh, students from this Club has participated in various national and International Moot Court Competitions including Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition, Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon SAARCLAW Mooting Competition, Professor Shah Alam Constitutional Law Moot Court Competition etc.
